Tea Swap

Who wants to swap tea with me?

IMG_9394b

I’m addicted to tea as a lot of my friends know. And I’ve bought a lot of local teas that are available here in the Philippines. I want to taste other teas from other countries so, I’ve decided to make this swap. I made the tea bags and packaging myself, so, expect that they have lots of love! Don’t worry, they’re sanitary.

I have 10 flavors, 2 tea bags of each. So, I have a total of 20 tea bags to give out

1. Sakura Sakura

2. Ito En

3. Genmai-cha

4. Perk Me Up

5. Chai

6. Apple Pie

7. Berrylicious

8. 1837

9. NY Breakfast

10. Snow

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to choose what flavor you’ll get. It’ll be too complicated and I want to surprise you. Don’t worry, all of these flavors are YUM! So, do you want to swap tea with me? If so, just send me a mail. postallov3@gmail.com

Happy Swapping!

Muse and Musings

My latest muse, my cousin.

I’ve been inspired to create something for the past few days, but something’s holding me back. I am not sure if it’s me being a perfectionist kicking in or, I just lack the determination to make my ideas into a reality. I’ve been like this ever since I can remember. Having all sort of ideas, inspiration– overflowing creative juice as one might say. But I just can’t quite put it into the 3D world. Or is it 4D? Whichever, I’m making myself confused.  As an artist, this is my constant problem. Having great ideas is nothing if you can’t execute it. I’m quite sure that I’m not the only one who has a problem like this. Molly, an Irish artist whom I met on Couchsurfing, suffers from this as well. Although, he’s making more progress than me, for sure.

She nagged me to a have a photo shoot. And I’m glad I agreed.

We started our correspondence late last year through mail art. And we still contact each other through social networking sites. He’s been really helpful to me and to my art. I guess, it’s because he understands what I’m going through. We usually encourage each other to create and do more art. And, I thank him for his constant nagging about it because I need it. Else, I might not even have this blog right now.

Our shoot made me inspired to create. And you can bet that you’ll see her face more in my upcoming paintings and/or drawings.

Often times, we have our down moments more than our ‘up’ moments. And in times like those, we need someone to push us to do more, make more. If you don’t have that person yet, just listen to Neil Gaiman. I am sure you’ll be inspired to create. You can watch his brilliant speech on this video animation.

So, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and,

“Make good art.”

Fish and Cat Mail Art

I received a mail art from my favorite artist Nasya Kopteva of FishMailArt a few months ago.

Nasya

She’s an artist from Russia, and her pieces are gorgeous! She’s has Instagram so you can follow her there, see her lovely artworks and photos. It’s @nasyakopteva.

And here’s another update from my crafts. After 4 years, I started doing pyrography or wood burning again.

Wood burning tools aren’t available where I live, so, I only use a regular soldering iron. You can just imagine the effort I put into that. I am planning to buy a proper wood burning tool when I’ve already saved enough money. It’s not that cheap and it’s only available overseas. Any ideas what kind of pyrography tool I should buy?

Doctor Who?

For those who don’t know who or what Doctor Who is, it’s a British television program about the adventures of the Doctor. A humanoid alien who travels through time and space, using his ‘TARDIS‘. A time-travelling space ship that looks like a British police box. He also travels with different people, who are called his Companions. Why am I talking about this? For those who’ve already seen the series, you may have seen my TARDIS inspired bookshelf on my past post.

I’m a Whovian (fan of the Doctor Who series), and as I’ve just finished watching the last episode of the seventh season. I felt inspired to do a mail art based on the series. And what does a Whovian like me wishes (and any other Whovian for that matter)? To be the Doctor’s Companion of course!

IMG_9303I was also inspired by one of my favorite calligraphers, Betsy Dunlap.

Now, won’t you go crazy when a Time Lord, the Doctor invites you to travel the space and time with him? Think of all the adventures you’re going to have!

The Doctor’

Time travel is not easy to comprehend. It is a,

“wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey… stuff”

But what the heck, GERONIMO!

I’m a fan of the Eleventh Doctor played by Matt Smith. I suggest you give the series a try and you’ll see what I mean! Already a Whovian? Why don’t you tell me who your favorite Doctor is!

For the meantime, why don’t you check the things that the Eleventh Doctor made cool! HERE.

Boredom strikes but Creativity flows in!

This is how I handle stress and boredom.

My so-called room had been a mess for almost a month. So, I finally decided to do some DIY and renovated it. This is how my Adventure Wall looks like now. Sans the TARDIS and Wanderlust chalk drawing. I’ll do that after I get a new bookshelf.
